What Is Pharmacy First?
Pharmacy First is an NHS-funded service that allows community pharmacists to treat patients with certain common conditions without the need for a GP referral or appointment. Your pharmacist can provide advice, assess your symptoms and, where appropriate, supply prescription-only medicines as part of your treatment – all at no cost to you.
This service helps free up GP appointments for those who need them most, whilst giving patients quicker, more convenient access to care.
Conditions we can treat
Our pharmacists can assess and treat the following seven conditions under the Pharmacy First service:

Impetigo

Shingles
-
Infected insect bites

Sinusitis

Sore throat

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
If your condition falls outside these criteria, our pharmacists will still offer advice and refer you to the most appropriate service.
